NOTICE OF IMPORTANT MEETINGS

Fish Creek-Lacombe Station
1.  The City of Calgary, Land Use Planning and Policy group have arranged a public open house at the St. Mary's University College location for February 22, 2012 from 6 to 8pm regarding the Fish Creek-Lacombe station area planning.  The City's summary of the June, 2011 workshop has been presented to LUMAC members and presumably will be the subject of discussion at the meeting.
 
A number of Shawnee-Evergreen residents participated in the June, 2011 workshop and there is some indication that many participants do not agree with the City's evaluation (draft summary document) of the workshop.
 
We urge all residents of Shawnee-Evergreen to attend the scheduled public open house on February 22, 2012 and participate in the discussion.  
 
If the City releases a final copy of the "summary document" prior to the open house date, SECA will endeavour to publish that document on this website.

Rogers Cell Tower
2.  Rogers Communication has proposed the construction of a Cell Tower at the Southview Alliance Church site.  A public meeting with residents within 300m of the proposed facility has been scheduled for Thursday, February 23, 2012, 5:30 to 7:30pm, at the South Fish Creek Recreation Association, Community Room, #100 - 333 Shawville Blvd SE.

WOW!!!  What a great turnout for our Rally - with close to 500 supporters clapping and cheering our efforts.   We also had honking support from most of the cars that passed our large group.  Thank you all! Let's keep the pressure on City Hall. More Pictures >
